Scratch Scuff Mar Finish Tester
SCHAP’s Scratch Scuff Mar Finish Tester is used to evaluate the propensity of materials such as automotive paints, coatings & finishes to scratch, scuff or mar.
The Scratch Scuff Mar Finish Tester is designed to determine how well a material surface can withstand scuffing and marring per General Motors specification GM-9150P. The test fixture locates the test sample while the operator loads the paper clip with a calibrated weight.
The test samples are 300mm square, and the combined calibrated weight, pressure bar, paperclip. Washer, screw, and nut together weight 750 grams.
Test Procedure
A specimen is placed on the test platform and is pulled while a weighted paper clip presses down on the test sample. The paperclip is clamped in the precision test weight and easily replaceable. The sample is tested along all four edges before being visually evaluated.
