FAD 1 AND FAD 2
The NHTSA has published the final rule for FMVSS 210, Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages (FAD 1 and FAD 2), as an alternative testing devices to the traditional torso / lap blocks. This final rule was effective as of October 17, 2024, and the full compliance date is September 1, 2027. Manufacturers have an option for early compliance prior to 2027.
As a longtime manufacturer of FMVSS and ECE R14 compliant Static Load Instrumentation, including the torso / lap blocks, Schap is currently in the manufacturing development stage of the new FAD1 and FAD 2 devices. We anticipate having a prototype ready for testing and dimensional verification in the June 2025 timeframe, followed by fulfilling purchase orders shortly after.
FMVSS-210 FAD1 and FAD2 including:
- Torso, pelvis and attachment components.
- 3D scan validation certificate.
- Rent to own available within the United States, with a full value P.O.
- Monthly rental not applicable.
- Lead time to be determined. Orders are processed in order of which they are received.
4-Position FAD Storage Cart, including:
- High strength welded steel construction.
- Powder coat finish.
- Large diameter caster wheels.
- Single hinged aluminum top shelf to access lower FADs.
- Rent to own available within the United States, with a full value P.O.
- Customization is always an option upon request. Lead time to be determined.
