2-Station Seatbelt Webbing Abrasion Tester

The 2-Station Seatbelt Webbing Abrasion Tester is used for evaluating a material’s ability to resist abrading specifically by the seat belt, lap belt or shoulder strap Material.  It is a bench top style tester.

Webbing abrasion testing ensures the durability of the webbing material. This test is performed before and after simulated use. The test includes scraping the webbing over course material for over 2,500 cycles and then testing for any decrease in strength.

The operator loads the test sample and threads the seat belt material over it.  Then the desired number of test cycles is entered on the cycle counter and the test is started.  Once this cycle count is reached the machine will automatically stop.  Test samples are visually evaluated.

Our seatbelt webbing abrasion tester is FMVSS 209 compliant, This stipulates that all seat belt components must meet standards based on three aspects: Strength, Performance, and Durability.
